Welsh Oggy
The Oggy is a complete meat and vegetable pie provided by
the wives of miners who needed to have their meals while working the mines or pits
It is a delicacy of North Wales!
Ingredients:
- Pastry dough
- Meats of choice
- Fruit or fruit jam
- 1 egg
- vegetables of choice
- Flat Baking Pan
Method:
- Roll out some pastry and using a plate cut large circle
- In segments place meat, vegetables, fruit jam, or whatever
your desire on one half of the pastry
- Brush the outer edges of the pastry with whisked egg and
fold over to make a half moon.
- Crimp and fold edges together
- Brush top of pastry with remaining whisked egg
- Bake at 190 degrees for 40 minutes
