Welsh Oggy

The Oggy is a complete meat and vegetable pie provided by the wives of miners who needed to have their meals while working the mines or pits  It is a delicacy of North Wales!



  1. Roll out some pastry and using a plate cut large circle
  2. In segments place meat, vegetables, fruit jam,  or whatever your desire on one half of the pastry
  3. Brush the outer edges of the pastry with whisked egg and fold over to make a half moon.
  4. Crimp and fold edges together
  5. Brush top of pastry with remaining whisked egg
  6. Bake at 190 degrees for 40 minutes
