Pasti Gocos or Cockle Pie



  1. Cook 2 pints of Cockles in 1 cup of water and half teaspoon salt
  2. Line sides of pie dish with thickly rolled pastry
  3. Layer cockles in bottom of dish
  4. Sprinkle with chopped chives or spring onions and diced bacon
  5. Repeat layers until dish is full
  6. Pour liquid cockles were boiled in and add pepper
  7. Criss-cross strips of pastry over top of dish
  8. Cook slowly at 190 degrees until pastry is done
  9. Serve hot with salad or potatoes
