Ostara Ritual

Ritual Preparation:
Flowers should be laid on the altar, placed around the circle and strewn on the ground. The cauldron can be filled with spring water and flowers, and buds and blossoms may be worn as well. A small potted plant should be placed on the altar.

Atar Materials:

Ritual Space:
Clean the area, not just energy wise but dust and vacuum your space. If your space is outside, you might clean any fallen branches, weeds or even clear any animal indications that may have been deposited in the area.

Setting up the Circle:
The Priest\ess should find compass north, the ritual will begin with calling in the quarters starting with the East. Set your circle according to those directions. You might chose to use a rope or even flour (if outdoors) to outline your ceremonial circle, and set your Quarter Candles to mark the location of the quarters so everyone will know where to stand when the circle is drawn.

Cleansing and Blessing:
The Ritual Broom can be used as well as burning Sage to clear and cleanse the space. Priest and Priestess Shall Cleanse and Anoint each other, then set burning sage at The Gateway to cleanse the way for those who enter.

Cast the Circle:
The Priestess and Priest using Wand or Sword shall walk Deosil starting and finishing East, leaving room and space for everyone, directing their will and energy from within to Cast and SpellCast the Circle saying;

"I hereby do create sacred space,
In time that is not time;
a place not a place,
Today is a day that is not a day,
All malice and worry, now away,
So all within here is right and just,
This is a place of magic,
love and trust!"

Consecration of Altar:
Facing North, the High Priest and Priestess kneel in front of the altar with him to her right. She puts the bowl of water on the altar, places the point of her Athame in it and says: "I exorcise thee, O Creature of Water, that thou cast out from thee all impurities and uncleanliness of this world as well as the Realm of the Onine: in the names of Cernunnos and Cerridwyn!"

She then puts down her Athame and holds up the bowl of water in both hands. The High Priest puts the bowl of salt on the altar, puts his Athame in the salt and says: "Blessings be upon this Creature of Salt; let all malignity and hindrance be cast forth hence from, and let all good enter herein; wherefore so I bless thee, that thou mayest aid me, in the names of Cernunnos and Cerridwyn."

He then puts down his Athame and puts a pinch of salt into the bowl of water the High Priestess is holding, together they anoint and cleanse each other!

Challenge:
The Celebrants wishing to enter the Circle shall be challenged at the Gate between Worlds for the "Sacred Passwords - In Perfect Love and Perfect Trust" before entering, and be Blessed and Anointed by "Priest, if a Womyn" or "Priestess, if a Man," The Celebrants should then walk through the Gate deosil around the Circle to where they will stand!

Introductions:
The Priest\ess will introduce themselves and ask each within to introduce themselves and say where they're from!

Calling the Quarters

The 1st Quarter Caller faces East and Calls:

Whispering in the midnight clearing,
Rustling in the leaves,
Rushing through the trees,
Vital beings of Air,
Guardians of the heights,
Lords of the upper reaches,
Come celebrate with us,
In our Circle of Light.
So Mote It Be!

- Light the Eastern candle!

The 2nd Quarter Caller faces South and Calls:

Old Ones before Times Creation,
Creatures of Heat and Light,
Warm and musical beings of Fire,
Guardians of illumination,
Lords of the fiery realms,
Come celebrate with us,
In our Circle of Light.
So Mote It Be!

-Light the Southern candle!

The 3rd Quarter Caller faces West and calls:

Rain bringers of life,
Swimmers of the deepest oceans,
Liquid, emotional beings of Water,
Guardians of sea and lake,
Lords of the hidden deep,
Waters of Mystery,
Come celebrate with us,
In our Circle of Light.
So Mote It Be!

- Light the Western candle!

The 4th Quarter Caller Faces North and Calls:

Strong yet worn through the Ages,
Patient and impervious mountains and stone,
Silent creatures of the law,
Strong, immutable beings of Earth,
Guardians of gems and precious metals,
Lords of the lower depths,
Come celebrate with us,
In our Circle of Light.
So Mote It Be!

- Light the Northern candle!

Arrange the altar, light the candles and incense, and cast the Circle.
The Priestess and the Priest call to Spirit by reciting the Blessing chant saying:

"May the powers of the One, the source of all creation;
All persuasive, omnipotent, eternal,
may the Goddess, The Lady Moon;
and The God, Horned Hunter of the Sun;
May the powers of the Spirits and Rulers
of the Elemental Realms;
the Powers of the Stars above,
And Earth below.
Bless this place,
and this time,
And We who are with You!"

Invocation of the Goddess:
The Priest turns to the priestess and begins the Invocation of the Goddess by asking the Priestess,

"Are you she who would recieve The Goddess within you?"

The Priestess answers! Yes, I am!

The Priest then asks,

"Is this of your own will and desire?"

The Priestess answers! Yes, with all my Heart!

The Priest then says,

"So Mote it Be!"

Priest and Priestess turn towards the Altar, whereupon the Priest kneels before the Priestess to perform the five fold kiss of reverance while saying,

Blessed be thy feet, which have brought thee in these ways.
Blessed be thy knees, which kneel upon the sacred Earth.
Blessed be thy womb, without which we would not be.
Blessed be thy breasts, formed in beauty and in strength.
Blessed be thy lips, which call the ancient names.

He then kissing her on the lips, assumes the stance of Invocation before the Priestess and calls out;

I call upon you, O Goddess, through words of Love, Strength, and Will;
I call upon "She who is Manifest on all Planes of Existance;"
Be with us within this priestess who is worthy to be your vessel!

The Priest slowly lowers his arms down, then picks the Moon Crown of Authority from off of the Altar and places it reverently upon the brow of the Priestess\Goddess and [when she is ready] asks her to speak to her children!

Charge of The Goddess:

I who am the beauty of the green earth,
and the white Moon among the stars,
and the mystery of the waters,
and the desire of the heart of man,
call unto thy soul!

Arise, and come unto me,
For I am the soul of nature,
who gives life to the universe.

From me all things proceed,
and unto me all things must return;
and before my face,
beloved of Gods and of men,
let thine innermost divine self
be enfolded in the rapture of the infinite.

Let my worship be within the heart that rejoices,
for behold,
all acts of love and pleasure are my rituals.

And therefore let there be beauty and strength,
power and compassion, honor and humility,
mirth and reverence within you.

And thou who thinkest to seek for me,
know thy seeking and yearning shall avail thee not
unless thou knowest the mystery;
For if that which thou seekest thee findest not within thee,
thou wilt never find it without thee.
For behold,
I have been with thee from the beginning;
and I am that which is attained at the end of desire.

Invoking the God:
The Priestess\Goddess then turns to the Priest and begins the Invocation
of the God by asking:

"Are you he who would receive The God within you?"

The Priest answers on bent knee! Yes my Goddess!

"Is this of your own will and desire?"

The Priest answers!Yes with all my heart!

The Priestess\Goddess says, "So Mote it Be!"

She then assumes the stance of Invocation before the Priest and calls out;

I call you forth my beloved, by my powers of Love,
Strength, and Will;
I summon you through these Symbols of Life!

She then lowers her arm to direct the energy into the Priest, and begins drawing the shape of the pentagram before him, saying at each point:

* I summon your Voice
to bring forth the Words of Sacred Knowledge;
(East!)

I summon your Fertile Energy
to plant the Seeds of Life and Wisdom;
(South!)

I summon your Heart
that beats the Rythm of Life,
Love and Inspiration;
(West!)

I summon your Power
to Manifest on all Planes of Existance
Here and Now,
within this priest who is worthy to be your vessel;
(Earth!)

I summon your Essence of your Spirit to join all together
in bringing forth the Nature of your Being;
(Spirit!)

The Priestess\Goddess then places the Crown of Authority [when he is ready] upon the brow of the Priest and kisses him on the lips, she then calls upon the Priest\God to speak to his children!

Charge of The God:

I am the radiant King of the Heaven,
flooding the Earth with warmth
and encouraging the hidden seed of creation
to burst forth into manifestation.
I lift my shining spear
to light the lives of all beings
and daily pour forth my gold upon the Earth,
putting to flight the powers of darkness.

I am the master of the beasts wild and free.
I run with the swift stag and soar as a sacred falcon
against the shimmering sky.
The ancient woods and wild places emanate my powers,
and the birds of the air sing of my sanctity.

I am also the last harvest, offering up grain and fruits
beneath the sickle of time so that all may be nourished.
For without planting there can be no harvest;
without winter, no spring.
Worship me
as the thousand-named Sun of creation,
the spirit of the horned stag in the wild,
the endless harvest.
See in the yearly cycle of festivals
my birth, death, and rebirth
and know that such is the destiny of all creation.

I am the spark of life,
the radiant Sun,
the giver of peace and rest,
and I send my rays of blessing
to warm the hearts
and strengthen
the minds of all.

The Priest\God will turn and gaze upon the Priest\Goddess and say:

"My Love,
you have freed yourself,
from the icy prison of winter.
Now is the greening,
when the fragrance of flowers,
drifts on the breeze.
This is the beginning!
Life renews itself,
by Your magic,
Earth Goddess. "

The Priest\God, stretches and rises, eager in His youth, he reaches out to her and while embracing her in his arms says, "I Love you and desire you, Join with me in Sacred Union so that we consummate our love, plant the seeds and begin the time of Growing - see about us life is already growing just from our love for each other!"

She kisses him and returns his embrace saying, "You hold me in your arms and know the love I feel for you, but even though life is already blossoming forth here - elsewhere it is cold and not yet the season, we must wait, our union must be celebrated symbolically only, until then you must court me and chase me until I am ready to be caught!"

The Priest\God says, "So Mote It Be!"

After a time, They both turn to those waiting and say together:

"We walk the earth in friendship,
not in dominance!
We are the Youth of Goddess and God,
and we instill within you,
through Love, respect for life
and warmth for all living things.
We will Teach you to revere,
the Earth and all its treasures.
May you never forget!"

Healing and Works of Majick may follow!

Priestess/Goddess- will hold the Chalice up to the Priest/God saying,

"May you never thirst "

They will then pass the Chalice and Bread to the Acolytes repeating the Blessing, who then pass Deosil to each person in the circle allowing each to drink from the Chalice and to take bread from the tray, after the first pass around the Circle Some Wine and Bread will be saved as the Libation!

Libation by the God/dess:
The Priestess/Goddes shall then pour the leftover wine onto the ground, making a circle and Pentagram with the liquid. The leftover cakes are then crumbled carefully over the pentagram to nurture the earth in honor of the Great Mother. If there are any cakes left over from the ritual, set them outside for the animals and spirit folk.

Releasing the God and the Goddess:
Priestess\Goddess and the Priest\God state that it is time for them to leave! They embrace and a kiss, she then, in removing his crown [placing it on the altar], releases the God from the Priest, thanking him with all her love for being with her and she will soon rejoin him! Then when the Priestess\Goddess is ready she in turn removes her crown [handing it to the Priest who places it on the altar], releasing the Goddess from the Priestess!

Priest Calls to Group -"Those who wish Prosperity an Extra Blessings must jump the Fire before it goes out!" "There is to be Singing and Dancing and Merriment with Drums and Loud Noise in our Celebration!"
